D'espairsRay formed in late 1999. The members are Hizumi (vocals), Zero (bass), Karyu (guitar), and Tsukasa (drums).
Creating music which is often dark and always unique, they have gained many fans in their home country of Japan.
A little more than a year ago, they started to tour outside of Japan. Performing their first overseas tour in Germany and France on October 30 & 31, 2004, they were surprised at the amazing response of the European fans. This inspired them to come to America for a four date tour from May 30-June 4, 2005 which was titled Infectious Mania. The response of the American fans was also overwhelming. and so they decided to return for their second American tour from October 27-November 6, 2005 entitled Infectious Mania Act II, which immediately followed their second European tour.
Their most recent releases include their first live DVD, murder Day, which was released on April 1 of this year, and their first full album, [Coll:set] which was released on June 29. Two versions of this album were released. On October 19th they released a second press of the maxi single G䲮et.

February 2007

D'espairsRay will release 2 new CDs in the near future.
The first CD, a maxi single entitled「Squall」will be released on March 14th. There will be 2 versions of this CD. One version will be a CD + DVD. The CD will have 2 songs, and DVD will contain the Squall PV collection. The second version will contain 3 songs. The second CD released will be an album entitled「MIRROR」, which will be released on April 11th. There will be 2 versions of this album. One will be a special digipac version, and the other will be a CD extra which will contain a video clip. Each version will contain a special card. There are 8 different cards.
