D formed in 2003, and was comprised of ASAGI, Ruiza, Sin (who were former members of Syndrome) and Rena.
Their first performance was on April 6, 2003 at an event called "Shock Jam 2003". Lareine, Kagrra, and Nightmare also participated in the event.
Sin’s participation in D was to be short-lived. He left D in July of the same year. Not long after, Ruiza was hospitalized, and he was unable to participate in any band activities again until September. During Ruiza’s absence, the other band members decided to continue activities under the name “Night of the Children”, along with HIDE-ZOU, who joined the band during this time as a second guitarist.
D performed their first oneman live at the Meguro Rock Maykan on November 27th. Those who attended the event received “Alice”, a special one-track single.
On January 7, 2004, D released their mini-album “Paradox”, which reached 13th place on Oricon indies chart.
Their second oneman was held at Takadanobaba Area on January 24th. They performed their 3rd oneman on May 6th at Shibuya O-West, where they distributed their video “Yume Narishi Kuuchuu Teien” for free. On May 12th they released their “Yume Narishi Kuuchuu Teien” single. This single reached 5th place on the Oricon indies chart.
For the next several months they were busy performing shows.
In November they performed lives on the 4th, 11th and 23rd. At these shows, they distributed different versions of their maxi-single “Mayutsuki no hitsugi” for free, all of which contained the same 2 tracks.
On December 8th, they released the “NEW BLOOD ~second impact~” mini-album.
D released the maxi-single “Mahiru no Koe ~Synchronicity~” on January 12, 2005. Over the next months they released several more singles.
In August 2005, D announced that Rena was leaving the band, and that this happened suddenly and for personal reasons.
On September 28th, D released their first full album “The name of the ROSE”
They released 2 versions of this album. Each version contains the same songs, but has a different cover and DVD.
Tsunehito (formerly of SCISSOR) joined D as their new bassist in December 2005.
Since then, they have released several CDs, including a new version of “The name of the ROSE” which contains 3 bonus tracks, and they opened an online shop on their official website. The shop was so popular that they were flooded with more orders than they could keep up with, and a short time later they stopped accepting orders.
In the time since they first formed, D has experienced and ever-increasing fan base, and their popularity continues to grow. |
